Due to the success of the temporary play facilities in all Heathrow Terminals and the positive passenger feedback from the permanent play areas in Terminal 4 and Terminal 5, a comparative equivalent was required in Terminal 3. Due to the space available, in addition to the play area, Heathrow Airport requested the installation of an area for parents and guardians and for children up to the age of 15.
The family lounge is a dedicated zone for families with play areas for children up to two year’s old and three to nine year’s old, as well as a children's quiet room, and a Game Zone for children aged ten to 15 year’s old. In addition there are coffee and soft drink vending facilities, comfortable seating for adults and a discreet area for nursing mothers.
Marco delivered this project with very challenging timelines and changes to the scope of works. It is a great example of meeting both the client’s and passengers’ expectations with this new facility.
